Why did it take court cases, appeal after appeal and WikiLeaks to expose blatant government secrecy of the bank bailouts?

It probably comes as a huge surprise to those that know me but I have an opinion on the cartoon issue. I think you should use whatever pic, image or cartoon you want on your profile. I know I’m an ass but my problem starts when everything has to be some kind of pathetic feel-good cause (See the video in the top right column).

Putting a cartoon on our profiles isn’t preventing a single child from being abused or stopping cancer or changing the world. It’s just a lame ass way for people to feel good about themselves.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Want to help a cause? Are you passionate about something? Then get the hell off Facebook and do something real. Donate money or time. Volunteer. Adopt a child. Become a foster parent. Be a big brother or sister. Even just becoming a decent member of your neighborhood and being a positive influence on the children deserves respect in a big way; at least in my book.

If you can’t find something REAL to do, please shut the hell up. Stop trying to fool everyone into thinking you’re a great person because you copy and paste every feel good cause to your online social friends. It’s just pathetic and a disservice to those that are truly making a difference.

And please don’t insult our intelligence by some lame ass excuse like ‘awareness‘. That’s bull shit. It’s no different than bitching about every little problem with your friends at the back of the room. Step up and make a difference or YOU are just part of the problem.

Don’t even get me started on the awareness ribbons.

If someone can, AND WILL, hide a micro-bomb capable of bringing down the airplane, I want the TSA to find it.

If that means getting felt up, so be it. BTW, that’s only for those that refuse the full body scanners.

The problem isn’t the rules; the problem is the TSA, along with every other government agency, is full of idiots that let their authority go to their heads. From the local cop to the President, our checks and balance system is broken.

There needs to be an effective system to keep everyone in check. Anyone abusing the system should be caught and dismissed immediately and permanently. No supervisor protection, no political clout and no union – just fired. PERIOD!

American Progressive movement:

First Reform Era occurred in the years before the Civil War and included efforts of social activists to reform working conditions and humanizes the treatment of mentally ill people and prisoners.

The Initial Congressional Plan

The Andrew Johnson Reconstruction Plan

The Radical Republican Reconstruction Plan (seems the Right Wing owes us a favor)

Movements like:

The reconstruction Movement

The Temperance movement

The Farm Movement

The success of progressivism owed much to publicity generated by the muckrakers, writers who detailed the horrors of poverty, urban slums, dangerous factory conditions, and child labor, among a host of other ills.

Sherman Anti Trust act

Conservation act

Railroad Legislation

Food and Drug Laws

The progressive spirit also was evident in new amendments added to the Constitution, which provided for a new means to elect senators, protect society through prohibition and extend suffrage to women.

Maybe we should just discount all this and hope that we can pull ourselves out of the Dark Ages whimpering at the feet of Dictators and Theocratic Dogmatic Totalitarians.

To his credit, former President of the United States Bill Clinton, who could live a life of ease and luxury, is hard at work helping important global causes and solving problems so big many of us can not even comprehend. President Clinton used his ‘star power‘ and political leverage to get things accomplished for the people rather than himself. Several of Clinton’s organizations include:

• Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI)
• Clinton Global Initiative (CGI)

The Clinton Global Initiative has helped over 220 million people in the last five years with 57 Billion dollars of commitments. CGI’s four Global Challenge areas are:

4. Global Health

We love to criticize our political leaders for their inadequacies but today I decided to recognize great achievement. Personally I didn’t care for Bill Clinton as the President but as a former President he kicks ass!
